Great Weekend

The biggest thing to happen this weekend was definitely Grayson's blessing today - but that will get its own post.  I just want to write about all of the other stuff that happened this weekend right now.  We had a lot of fun with our family!

Because we were blessing Grayson today and my little brother Tevin was getting the Priesthood my brother Jamen and his wife Rose, my aunt GayLynn, and my Grandpa Killpack all came into town.  They got here Friday night and left this afternoon.

On Friday Juston left work a half hour early so he could come home and take Jackson up to our ward Father/Kid campout.  It was about an hour away at a ranch that had a lake/pond.  Juston didn't want to attempt setting up a tent while watching Jackson and worrying about the lake so they slept in the van.  From what he's told me they had lots of fun playing in the lake, going on a little canoe ride, feeding some animals, but mostly playing on the swings.  Jackson was up until about 12:30-1 and woke up at 7.  To say he was tired the next day would be quite the understatement.  Ha.

After they left to go camping I went swimming at the Walter's house.  I wish I had a picture of their pool because it is seriously the coolest thing ever.  There are 3 rock slides, caves, waterfalls, a bridge that goes across the whole thing, a bar to eat at, and cliffs to jump off.  It's awesome.  I only swam for about 3 seconds but it was still fun to hang out with people there.  About 8:30 my grandpa and GayLynn got into town so we went back to my parents' house.  I stayed there until about 11 and then came home and hung out with Jamen and Rose until about 12:30.

Saturday morning was just a slow morning.  Grayson wanted lots of attention so we just hung out together.  After the boys got home we hung out together and then I went grocery shopping (so fun I know).  That night we went to my parents' to take family pictures (disaster) and celebrate Tevin's 12th birthday.  We had all of his favorites - mac n cheese, alfredo, tortellini, chicken nuggets, and green beans (we were all VERY surprised he picked any kind of veggie).  For dessert instead of cake we had pizookies (mostly cooked giant cookie that's still hot with ice cream dumped on top). YUM! They are definitely a family favorite.

This morning we blessed Grayson at my parents' house (more on that later) and said goodbye to everyone.  When we left Jackson was SUPER tired and cranky so we all took naps - 3 hours to be exact! It was SO nice and much needed by all.  When we woke up it was POURING rain so we decided to go take Jackson to play in it.  Juston took him out to play in the street.  It was so fun to see him go from scared of it to loving it and not wanting to come in.  They splashed all over, got soaked and freezing.

After playing in the rain it was time to go back to my parents' for dinner so they took a quick shower and we headed over.  As we were about to get in the car Darci called basically saying good luck getting there.  It was flooding really bad everywhere.  Seriously, it was crazy.  We live about a mile away from my parents and almost all the roads getting there were rivers.  When we got there everyone was going out down the street to look at the super river on Grand Teton.  It was SOOO flooded.  It was crazy watching cars trying to get through - we really thought one would get stuck.  We did see one car get totally sprayed with their windows down - that was pretty funny.  After we went back and were getting ready to sit down we heard helicopters and cop cars that seemed to be right above us.  I saw it and realized it was a rescue helicopter so we thought it was out on Grand Teton.  I don't think I've ever seen all of us get our shoes back on so quickly! Sadly, we didn't get to see a rescue because it wasn't as close as we thought.  But we did drive up to the basin (that ironically is supposed to prevent flooding and definitely does NOT!) to see how full it was.  Juston and Slate thought it would be fun to wade out into it - SICK!

Then finally we went back, had dinner, and just hung out.  It was a great weekend.  It was so nice to spend so much time with family and have tons of fun doing simple things.  I love family and great summer storms!

(somehow the pictures got super out of order - so these are all just random)

driving home - this is all the debris at the intersection we were trying to get through

awesome double rainbow

Ha - we looked ridiculous.  And Slate and Juston are out to their thighs in the water

Tevin tried to talk my dad into letting him boogie board down the street

(my dad's phone was in a bag so its splotchy) Devin and Dakota - this is showing Grand Teton

This is the corner of the street you turn onto to go to my parents' house.  It will probably be a giant hole tomorrow.

The puddle in front of their street

bahaha - my lovely sister Dakota

The basin on our way to their house

soaking wet after playing in the rain

crawling down the gutter haha

Jackson climbed in bed with Juston this morning and slept until almost 8:30!

happy baby on his blessing day!

our street was a little flooded - I knew if it looked like this then out of our neighborhood would be bad

just going out into the rain

Trying to get him warmed up to it

he kept saying "all done) and walking back up to the porch

hahaha - it looks like Juston is dragging him - but he really was liking splashing around

This is a picture of my youngest brother Tevin - we thought he looks just like Grayson

Bridger and Jackson took a bath after pizookies and splashed EVERYWHERE.  They were laughing so hard! It was so cute and fun

Darci sent this picture to me and said it was the best one - hahahahaha.
