Jackson Update

It's been quite a while since I've done an update about this cute boy.  I'm so sad I skipped 10 months - picture and everything - altogether.  It seems like so much has changed since 9 months.  He seems so much bigger all the time! Jackson, would you PLEASE stop growing so fast.

I think this stage is probably my favorite.  I love that he knows who Juston and I are.  We are still his favorite people.  He is mobile, but not too mobile.  He can play independently but still wants my attention.  I just love everything about his age right now.  I think I can honestly say there is nothing I am thinking "oh I can't wait until he can do....."  I am purely just enjoying this age.  I love it.  So really Jackson, just stay this age forever ok? :)

So what is Jackson up to these days?
- Standing on his own like a champ
- Taking lots of steps when prompted (he doesn't really just walk on his own.  We stand him up and he will walk)
- No longer doing his "lizard" crawl.  He will do it every once in a while.  Mostly he just does a normal crawl everywhere.  He is very fast!
- Has a Leap Frog toy cell phone that is his favorite.  He will play with it for a good 15 minutes at a time (which for him is a really long time)
- Loves to take things out of containers and put them back again
- He loves to play with balls.  He loves to push them around, eat them, chase after them, etc.
- Still has his really loud high pitched scream.  He does it when he wants attention or is frustrated.
- Only has two teeth (bottom front).  We have been working on the top two for about two weeks now.  It is getting ridiculous.
- We are finally working on a schedule with him (now that our lives have a little more routine).  It is helping a lot.
- Does a really funny "cheese" face.  He does it especially well at dinner, and even better at dinner when we pull out the camera.
- He has his first friend, Ryker.  They are two weeks apart and live across the street from us.  At first Jackson was shy and let Ryker do whatever he wanted (steal toys, eat all the snacks, etc).  But now Jackson is learning to stand his ground.  It is pretty fun to watch them interact.  I also like that they know who each other are and get excited to see each other.
- We found the first food he doesn't like.  Eggs.  One day I decided to scramble up an egg to feed to him.  He loved it and ate it super fast.  The next day (or a few days later, I don't remember) Karen made one for him and he would not eat it.  He would stick it in his mouth, spit it out, and throw it over the side of his chair.  We waited a few days and tried again.  After one bite he just started putting it behind him like he was hiding it or something.  It was surprising to find something he doesn't like.  So far everything else we have given him he has eaten like a champ.  I think I can handle one thing he's picky about.
- He had his first poop in the tub a few weeks ago.  We will give him a bath in our shower and then let him just play in the empty tub while we get ready for the day.  On this day I was sitting on the floor facing him but couldn't see into the tub.  Juston was getting ready and we were just talking.  All of a sudden Jackson held up something brown.  I freaked out, held his hands out, and made Juston clean it up.  Great moment I know. Ha.

Well, I think that's pretty much an overload of Jackson right now.  He is so much fun and we are loving being his parents!  Now if only he would learn to sleep in. ;) Ha.
